Actor Josh Hutcherson fears his The Hunger Games co-star Jennifer Lawrence is out for revenge after he made the Oscar nominee wet her pants with a scary prank.

The Kids Are All Right star has landed the role of Peeta Mellark in the much-anticipated movie adaptation of author Suzanne Collins’ bestselling book, opposite Lawrence as leading lady Katniss Everdene. The pair has formed a strong bond onset, but prankster Hutcherson admits his latest stunt is sure to have landed him at the top of Lawrence’s target list.

He tells Entertainment Weekly, “We have this fake dummy on set, this really gnarled-up scary-looking thing. The other day I put it in her bathroom in her trailer, and she told me she actually peed her pants, she was so scared. I’m sure she’s going to pay me back. I’m just terrified because she’s someone I can see taking it to the next level, and somebody could get hurt.”

First Still of “The Hunger Games”

Entertainment Weekly released the first stills of “The Hunger Games” including one of Jennifer.

It was a love-fest when Liam Hemsworth (The Last Song) and Josh Hutcherson (The Kids Are All Right) learned they’d landed the roles of Gayle and Peeta, respectively. The guys first met after Hutcherson worked with Hemsworth’s big brother, Chris, on an upcoming remake of Red Dawn. Says Hutcherson, ”I sent him a text: ‘Dude, we have The Hunger Games! I’m so stoked, man, this is awesome!”’

Before arriving on set, Hutcherson hit the gym for an intense round of training to better embody a boy who’s spent his childhood heaving sacks of flour. He put on about 15 pounds of muscle in three weeks.

Director Gary Ross on Hemsworth, here with Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss: ”On first glance he’s such a hunk that it’s easy to ascribe a hunklike simplicity to him. But this is a phenomenally subtle actor, totally in control of what he was doing.”

Jennifer is Frontrunner For ‘The Silver Linings Playbook’

July 21, 2011
Written by Lindsey in Movies, News & Rumors || No Comments

We reported earlier Jennifer was considered for “The Silver Linings Playbook” but apparently she is now the front runner for the role. Keep in mind nothing is confirmed.

I’m told that Jennifer Lawrence is in pole position for the role in The Silver Linings Playbook, the drama that David O Russell will direct with Mark Wahlberg starring. This was a coveted role that many young actresses wanted.

Among those actresses mentioned as being in the mix have been Rachel McAdams, Blake Lively, Anne Hathaway and Andrea Riseborough (Madonna’s W.E.). If things go the way I’m hearing, Lawrence would shoot the film after she completes the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, which Gary Ross is directing for Lionsgate. Production on Silver Linings will begin in the fall. Based on Matthew Quick’s novel, the film revolves around a former high school teacher who was institutionalized for depression and is then released into the care of his mother. He tries to win back his ex-wife but becomes involved with an eccentric neighbor with problems of her own. That is the coveted role.

Danny Elfman to Provide “The Hunger Games” Score

July 1, 2011

Hollywood legend Danny Elfman will be behind the soundtrack of the film adapted from the Suzanne Collins best seller, The Hunger Games – and he’s going to have a little help from another music giant. 12-time Grammy winner T Bone Burnett will join Elfman as Executive Music Producer for The Hunger Games. In fact, he will produce songs for the soundtrack, to be composed by Elfman (Alice in Wonderland, Spider-Man).

“The Hunger Games is such a special property,” said LionsGate’s Head of Film Music Tracy McKnight in a statement. “It has worldwide mass appeal, but it’s also sophisticated, cerebral, soulful and rebellious. We needed a composer who can translate these qualities musically, and we have not one but two incredible artists in an absolutely thrilling first time ever collaboration.”

No big panel for ‘The Hunger Games’ at Comic-Con

June 29, 2011
Written by Lindsey in News & Rumors, The Hunger Games || No Comments

There were rumors the cast of “The Hunger Games” were attending this year’s Comic-Con, but now it’s officially confirmed the cast will not attend as panel.

Throw another big film in the pile of high-profile franchises that won’t be making a major splash Comic-Con this year: Lionsgate has confirmed to EW that next year’s highly-anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games will not be holding a big Hall H presentation. (The Los Angeles Times first reported the story.) Games had seemed like a shoo-in for a big Comic-Con appearance: Based on a beloved book series, starring a cast of all-stars (like Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland) and up-and-comers (like Jennifer Lawrence as the central heroine Katniss Everdeen), with extremely geek-friendly subject matter. But the film’s intense North Carolina shooting schedule simply made a legitimate presentation impossible. The studio is, however, planning a major presence on the Comic-Con show floor, including exclusive Hunger Games giveaways and a contest for a fan to visit the set.
